Invisalign is a revolutionary way to straighten teeth. Using computer modeling, a series of aligners are made to straighten teeth over a period of time. (See the picture on left; these are aligners.) Patients change aligners every two weeks and see the dentist about once a month to check progress. No more ‘railroad tracks’ on your teeth to get them straight!
A filling is needed when a tooth gets a cavity, the decay needs to be removed and a filling placed. By not removing the cavity, it will get deep in the tooth resulting in the need for more extensive dental work. A filling can be either resin, which is tooth colored, or amalgam, which is silver.
A veneer is a very thin, lab-made porcelain restoration that is bonded on the front teeth to improve their appearance. Veneers are similar to crowns, except that not as much tooth structure is removed.
“A picture is worth 1000 words”. The picture to the left are not ‘before’ and ‘after’ shots. This is an example of digital imaging to show you what your teeth will look like once work is complete. Our patients don’t have to ‘guess’ what their results will be!
